The algorithm at the core of the Model Manager (due to D. J. C. Mackay) has won a prediction competition. The problem was to predict the energy consumption of a large building as a function of hours of sunshine, wind and other relevant variables.

Neuromat's experience is focussed on the application to materials science. This includes prediction of mechanical properties as a function of manufacturing parameters such as composition or heat-treatments, prediction of manufacture costs, determination of relevant variables in complex problems, etc.
